ROBIN VAN CREIJ
THE OTHER SIDE OF THE RAINBOW
The other side of the rainbow is originated from a fantasy of mine as a child. The idea that there is another side behind the horizon. A hidden place you can't reach, only imagine.
Rainbows connect these two worlds because they are always at the end of the horizon and goes futher on the onther side.
This old fantasy came up when I saw 'Regenboog', a painting of Jan Andriessen in a museum in Tilburg. This is also the place where the animation ends.
For the development of the animation I've made a lot of collages, little drawings and visuals to make progress.
At the end, a lot of these collages and other material ended up in the final movie. You can see it as a journey through my memmories of old dreams and fantasy.
Regenboog, Jan Andriessen
It all started with this painting. The first time you'll see it's just white. Your eyes need to concentrate and focus on the painting to reveal the color.
